Choosing Cones

At Naugler’s, we select cones from fir trees with superior genetic qualities and raise them in seed beds to produce the next generation of Christmas Trees to re-stock our farms.

Harvesting Seeds

Once we’ve selected the cones, we collect them and use a process to prepare them for planting in the spring. Through cross-breeding of true fir species, we are working hard to make sure that we are producing Christmas trees that have superior needle retention, and that classic Balsam fir smell that we all know and love.

Growing Seedlings

By grafting terminal branches onto mature trees in our seed orchard, we can guarantee many years of healthy cones from trees with exceptional characteristics.
